Lathonian · “Pale Kitty”

Lathasi

The white tiger strain and the snow hunters. "Dense white fur with black random striping, the Lathasi are snow hunters and reside only in cold climates. They are wilder and more aggressive race, minding their business and hunting to survive in the cold. They are brutish and muscular, have broad shoulders and heavy arms and hands; they resembles Nu'umans the most out of their species."

They hold the northern prisons, which are the worst ones, and the phrase "sent north" means what it sounds like.

Body

Six and a half to seven feet and the heaviest of the strains after the Lathal, broad in the shoulder and heavy in the arms and hands, and the strain that resembles a Nu'uman most closely of the eight. The striping across the white follows no pattern that repeats.

The claws do not sheathe here either, and in the cold that matters more than it does anywhere else: a claw-bed that cannot be kept clean freezes and then festers, and half the old guards in the northern prisons are short a finger or two and none of them will discuss which corridor took it.

Country

Cold climates only. Away from the holds they mind their own business and hunt to survive in the snow, which is the record's own account of them and is not a euphemism. In the holds they are the northern prisons themselves: black walls, snow banked against them, one gate, and hunting country running away flat and white in every direction.

Faith

Their Kept Law is the harshest reading anywhere. A Lathasi Keyholder Tells the whole corridor, guards included, and the guards' terms are longer than the inmates'. The doctrine is the doctrine every Lathonian has by the Weighing, taken to its end: if everything in the world is serving a term, then the one holding the key is serving the longer one, and saying so out loud once a year in front of the men he locks in is the observance.
