Nu'umanuh
The Nu'umanuh are brown-white in pigmentation, and their strain borders hotter climates but exists within colder regions as well. Their bone structure differs, giving them unique jaw structures, and the bodies run to two builds, either tall and muscular or short and rotund. Their skin is freckled black, allowing them the ease of mobility, with freckles to deflect the density of the sun's rays.
Their distinction is the voice. Dew Skins have mesmeric singing voices, which places them closest of any strain to the Elegeian Hymnals and the battle-choirs, in a species whose one excellent sense is hearing in a narrow middle band and whose one excellent instrument is its own throat.
Body
Brown-white pigmentation freckled black, with the freckles deflecting the density of the sun's rays, and a bone structure that differs from the rest of the species at the jaw. The bodies run to two builds, either tall and muscular or short and rotund. The jaw is the reason for the voice: the differing jaw carries a longer throat and a wider resonating space above it, so a Dew Skin holds a note where another strain breaks. They live seventy to one hundred and twenty years.
Country
Their cradle is the temperate coast on the border of the hot lands, where the dew sits heavy on the grass at dawn and burns off by mid-morning, the winters are short and the fishing towns sing the boats in.
Society
The two builds of the strain give the two voices of a Nu'uman choir, the tall singing over and the short singing under, which is why the Dew Skins stand closest of any strain to the Elegeian Hymnals and the battle-choirs. In a faith that holds the hymn to be how one is heard by the Court, a people whose jaws were set by a coastal sky are the ones doing the hearing-work for a whole species.
Tongue
The Dew Skins give a given name and a sung name, which is the first note the child cried on, written as a syllable. It is the only register in the species that records a sound rather than a place, a parent or a deed.
