The lips are the tell and they are the disease's signature rather than an injury: it takes the soft margins first, the lips, the eyelids, the nostril edge, and leaves the hard structures standing. That is the opposite of what the Crimson does, which takes the eye within a week of the plumbing reaching the face and builds structure out of what it keeps, and it is how a physician who has seen both can tell them apart in a moment.

What he has is not the Crimson and does not answer to the crimson god. It sits alongside it, and physicians who have seen both say the two do not mix in a body, they compete.

Regard

Elsewhere he appears as Iqora's bound abomination, the ghoul pet. Bound is the word to hold onto. Something has him on a lead.

He was a person who wanted power badly enough to reach for a god's, and he now carries in his body the reference sample of a disease that the Prince itself has never released at full strength. The word abomination is used of him by everyone, and in his case it is being used in its third sense, as an insult, rather than as the name of a class he does not belong to.
