Tusitahr
Jagged, massive, "and unknown to the world of mortals, this ancient being is of one soul, having no ability to breed and hailing from the experiments of the Alverians." He was "created for the Alverian's to escape within, as they built their own bodies, but the world ended before this could be replicated and used, and so it escaped." There is one of him and there will never be another.
He consumes the DNA of any creature and takes its form, "merely needing to shed its skin afterwards to regain its own," and he wore Lancelot at Old Camelot by way of a fingertip's taste. Titled the God of Dead Memories, he holds the office of the Threshold of the Throne in a cult that worships the High King of Alveria through him and is not permitted to pray to him.
Body
Jagged and massive, over a translucent-black body, with eyes holding "an iridescent complexity, every colour ever changing." The tail edge carries "a million fleshy long bristles, that when it wishes to truly know a person to take their form, worm inside any opening to dissect their brain and duplicate whatever cell it can."
"Each time it moults it becomes larger and less easier to hide." He is now large enough that the forms he takes cost him a full day's shedding to leave.
Faith
He is the Threshold of the Throne, and the word is exact in the doctrine of the Kept Court: a threshold is no room, no destination, and is owed nothing; it is the place a thing crosses. Prayer is spoken to the Throne and never to him, and it crosses him, and he is aware of every word that crosses and keeps all of it.
The God of Dead Memories is the High King's attempt to make a living god that would worship him. The attempt worked and the High King has never been sure it worked in his favour. Atahr does everything asked of him and carries every word faithfully. The cult holds the Worn, who have each given a finger and can be taken at any hour in any city, and no Worn knows when it has been worn.
Harvest
His venom is the Still Hand. It paralyses completely and then eats the flesh slowly, from the wound outward, over days, while the victim stays awake in it. He uses it to hold a body intact and conscious while the bristles of his tail go in to copy the brain.
It is made at the roots of the bristles themselves, out of the copies stored there, and a dose spends one: to fill the gland he must give up a form he holds, a person he has been and can no longer be. He has done it three times in eight thousand years that anyone knows of, and each time he chose which of his people to lose. The Still Hand cannot be bought, since there is one source and he is not selling; the three vials known to exist were gifts, and each of the three houses that received one has since done something inexplicable.
Frailty
He is the only Tusiva who does not moult organs, having been built to keep everything, which is why he has no upper limit and why he cannot put anything down. The price of never losing a memory is never losing an inch. He has been quietly growing for eight thousand years.
There is a size beyond which he will not be able to be a person at all. Nobody in the Kept Court has been told what he intends to be after that.
